KidREACH at Maple Valley Church is a community outreach that builds one-to-one mentoring relationships with elementary students in our neighborhood who struggle academically and/or economically.

One adult, or older youth, volunteer works with one child each week to build a relationship, assist with basic academic and social skills, and foster hope.

Do YOU have a couple of hours a week to help with school work and be a friend to a child?

Please fill out the Volunteer Information Request and we will contact you as soon as possible.

When?

Thursdays, 3 pm to 5 pm, October through May, following the Tahoma school calendar and breaks.

Why?

To provide an environment where the children the Lord sends our way can experience the love of God and their neighbors. To help them realize their God-given potential through the gift of attention and sustained investment in their success at school. To come alongside each child’s family and teacher, demonstrating Christ’s love for them in practical ways.

Other Ways to Help!

Can’t make a weekly commitment? We also need substitute tutors, snack helpers, administrative help, special event planners, and PRAYER partners to join us at any time of the year.

High School Juniors and Seniors are welcome! You can earn community service hours, too.

Join us! The more mentors we have, the more students we can REACH! No experience is necessary. Training is provided.
