"God has blessed us ... to be a blessing."

Genesis 12:2

KidREACH at MVC was in its 15th year when it was abruptly suspended due to COVID-19.
After a 2 ½ year hiatus, we are rebuilding the team to REACH out again!

KidREACH builds one-to-one mentoring relationships with at-risk elementary students in our neighborhood.

We provide help and encouragement for students children who struggle academically and/or economically. One volunteer tutor works with one child each week to build a relationship, assist with homework (basic reading and math), social skills, and foster hope.

Do YOU have a couple of hours a week to help with school work and be a friend to a child?
Please fill out the Volunteer Information Request and we will contact you as soon as possible.

When?

Our 2022 session runs from November through May on Thursdays from 3 pm to 5 pm, following the Tahoma school calendar and breaks.
We always have a need for substitute tutors to join us at any time of the year.

Why?

During their Thursday afternoons at KidREACH, each student has the full attention of a caring adult/older youth mentor. We work in partnership with each child’s teacher and family serving as Christ’s hands and feet, demonstrating His love for them in practical ways.

How YOU can help:

No experience is needed! Training is provided.
If you'd like more information or to talk to a team member about how you can volunteer with KidREACH, please fill out this form and a team member will be in contact.
  • If you can’t make a weekly commitment, we also need substitute tutors, snack helpers, administrative help, special event planners and PRAYER partners.
  • High School Seniors and Juniors: consider mentoring an elementary school student for community service hours.
  • PRAY - Ask the Lord to equip and empower us to help the children He sends our way to realize their God-given potential. And to bless and multiply our efforts to extend His love to children, families, and teachers in our community, in His name.
