Good Morning MVC - July 28th

by Kami Wright on July 28, 2020

Good Morning, MVC!

It's Kami Wright, joining you on a Tuesday due to the staff wedding anniversary shuffle. ❤️ I'm celebrating a cool 20 years this week and David Miles is out also celebrating his.
  • Today on Facebook live, heartfelt thank you's were delivered to all the moms, grandmothers, aunts, and family friends who executed the VBS plan in their homes so beautifully! Thank you, church family, for your prayers over the event because it was a home run success!  In coordination with Deacon Molly Benjamin and Vine Maple Place, we are going to keep our video links live through August so our program can be implemented for the children on-site there this summer.
  • Next week finds the CM team of Kami, Jill, and Shawn, out at our Best Days of Summer week at Black Diamond Day Camp. Many mitigation measures were put in place to operate and we'll be onsite to supervise and cheer as they grow in faith through outdoor activities.
  • We'll be launching our Family Prayer Made Easy series in August in addition to our new Sunday School themes. In our CM weekly email, KidVenture Facebook page, and Friday Facebook Post, we'll be resourcing families with practical ways to incorporate family prayer and faith discussion into the flow of life.
  • With so many school districts, including our local Tahoma, Kent and Auburn districts, delivering classroom instruction exclusively online, there is going to be enormous pressure on families. I encourage you to seek out your friends/relatives with school-aged kids and see if there's anything you can do for them as they make plans for the school year. It's a great opportunity to lift up teachers, the families of teachers, administrators, students, and parents in constant prayer as we move into the next few months.
Finally, please continue to pray that police and search teams locate Gia Fuda (age 18) who disappeared under a suspicious circumstance. Pray that she is found alive and returned to her family who is desperate to find her. Gia attended Cashmere and Mexico mission trips and is loved by many of our MVC youth and leaders.

I didn't put this next part in my live video this morning, but the Lord is leading me very strongly to give some reconciliation assistance in this particular email.  This note from me is filled with many requests for prayer, but if you're feeling like you just can't engage with God right now out of frustration with something in your life, perhaps a discussion is needed and this can get you started:

Father, I admit that I am upset with You because ________.
Help me see things from Your perspective. I know You are a good Father and have my best interests in mind at all times even if I can't see it now.  Forgive me for holding this against You. Heal me of my disappointment/anger/resentment and help me move forward in a deeper relationship with you. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

MVC Family, I give thanks for you always!
