Good Morning MVC - April 30th

Good Morning MVC -

This week the Children’s and Youth Ministry are attending the Orange Conference virtually. We are excited that Orange is still providing this conference so that we can be encouraged and get additional training and information that we can bring back to support our church family. Please be in prayer for us as we attend. Tonight at 7 pm is our Prayer and Worship Night. Last week was so encouraging doing the worship by request that Rob is going to do it again this week. Join us tonight at 7 pm on the Maple Valley Church Facebook page or you can also watch via the Livestream at maplevalleychurch.org.

This week has been tough. I think it has been particularly hard because we are living in limbo. There are some states that are opening and others that are not and everyone is arguing about what the right thing is to do. For us watching all of this play out, you may be feeling helpless as so much is being decided for us. For me especially this last week when I have started to feel anxious or depressed I have tried to refocus on the things that I have as opposed to the things that I am missing. I am a big people person and I have been really missing all my relationships but in those tough moments, I have begun to thank God for the ways that he has provided for me in the midst of all of this. I don’t know why that it surprises me (but it always does) that when I begin to thank God for the things he has provided my attitude begins to change. I am so thankful for my church family, friends, and community and I can see all the ways that God has been providing for me in the midst of all of this.

Church family, I know that many of us have lost a lot during this time and it is okay to grieve those things but we must also take time to praise our Lord who continues to provide for us in the midst of all of this. I encourage you to take some time today to thank him and praise him especially as we prepare our heart for tonight’s prayer and worship night. I will leave you with this Psalm of Praise.

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.

I love you church family!
