Joe was born in South Korea, and was raised in Graham, Washington. He met his wife, Jill, at Azusa Pacific University, where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies. Joe is an avid reader, a foodie, a huge fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and loves traveling with Jill. Prior to Maple Valley Church, Joe served as a student ministry coordinator at Mexico Outreach, a pastoral intern at Memorial Presbyterian Church, and as a chaplain intern at Monroe Village. He also holds a post-graduate degree from Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div).
